Participation in the Conference of “SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY – 2026”
On 21st May 2026 I took part in the VII-th Scientific and Technical Conference “SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, SECURITY – 2026”, organized by the Association of Reserve Officers “Atlantic” and the House of Science and Technology-Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I presented a report on the topic: Cybersecurity and Cybercrime – differences and interrelation.
With the recent amendments to European and Bulgarian legislation, cybersecurity has turned from a technical issue into an important administrative and strategic priority with high responsibility for the management of public and private organizations.
With seemingly identical semantics, there is a huge semantic difference between cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime. Cybersecurity is proactive and focuses on prevention and preliminary protection, while the fight against cybercrime is reactive and includes combating the criminal actions of individuals who circumvent or violate the security measures of computer and digital systems.
